Strutter Summary for 8/25

The last two weeks got me twisted. Why? This. We, as plus-sized people, know people can be cruel, but this type of cruelity is truly beyond comprehension. But the site is no more. Or at least down deep in the dark web. But still, it's been a rough two weeks.

It got Strutter thinking: Comments like what that website posted are typical in any post—on much more popular websites—towards any woman above a size 10. When does it stop? How many websites would be shut down if everyone truly paid attention to the comments of a woman that isn't an acceptable size?

However, there's still positive news out there, especially in the plus size industry, so we're setting our focus on that for this week:

  • Cooler-than-cool ecommerce site Dolls Kill plans to launch a plus size line. (Racked)

  • Lauren Conrad's announced her plus size line at Kohl's on her blog. (Lauren Conrad)

  • Gwynnie Bee is collaborating with noted fashion designer Jay Godfrey for a plus size line. (WWD)

  • Forever 21 has a new, size inclusive jeans line. (People)

  • How Tarriona "Tank" Ball of Tank and the Bangas found her style after Hurricane Katrina (Bustle) SaveSaveSave
