'Dietland' Heads to AMC
AMC is working on a series based on "Dietland," the novel from Sarai Walker.
The network made the announcement at the Television Critics Association press tour on Saturday. Marti Noxon, co creator of Lifetime's "UnReal" will serve as the showrunner for “Dietland," as well as a writer and executive producer. She also stated that she’ll be directing the first few episodes.
Noxon has worked with AMC in the past on the Emmy award-winning series “Mad Men” as a consulting producer, and produced episodes for shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," among others. She announced at TCA that over half the scripts have been written for Season 1 and that production for "Dietland" will begin in New York in September.
The 10-episode season will premiere in 2018.
